The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, now placed in Molina de Segura the first stone of the new Day Centre for People with Chronic Mental Illness, by which you can serve 100 users, between 18 and 64.
The ceremony was also attended by the Managing Director of the Institute of Social Action Murciano, Isabel Sola, the mayor of the municipality, Eduardo Contreras, and the president of the Association of the Mentally Ill Family and Molina (AFESMO), Delia Topham.
The new center, whose lands have been leased from the City Council, is budgeted at 1,436,573 euros, of which the regional government provides 300,000.
The Day Centre for People with Chronic Mental Illness will have two main buildings and is situated at Pablo Neruda, have soft ground and first floor, where services will be installed in individual therapy, cognitive stimulation, social skills school parents and relatives, among others.
In total will be 14 employees who work at these facilities and among them will be three psychologists and a social educator.
AFESMO has a center of attention to people with disabilities, which are located within an occupational center for up to 80 users, and a day center for up to 85 people.
It also has four sheltered housing, three for Spanish with 7, 8 and 14 seats respectively, and mixed with six places for immigrants and four national.
In addition, the Association has respite care service, with 18 licensed beds, a family support service, with 80, and a volunteer service, with another 80 approved positions.
Its scope, in addition to Molina, includes the towns of Ceuta, Lorqui Cotillas Towers, Alguazas, Archena, Villanueva del Segura and Alhama de Murcia.
Regionally, the Department currently subsidizes 420 places in day centers for people with mental illness, through the agreement signed with the Federation of Associations of Families and Mental Illness.
In addition, the region has hired 85 more seats in Molina, Cartagena, Las Torres de Cotillas and Cieza.
