The closing ceremony of the European youth exchange Together for Europe's future within the Youth in Action Programme, was held on Monday 14 September, in the Plenary Hall of the Ayuntamiento de Molina de Segura.
The event was attended by the Councillor for Social Welfare, Worship Molina Lopez, the Director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Verónica López García, Councillor for Youth, Sonia Carrillo Marble, and the Councillor for Education, Mariola Martinez Robles.
This exchange, which began last September 7 and ends on the 15th, Murcia has hosted a total of 21 young Europeans, aged between 13 and 17 years (7 Finns, seven Germans and seven Spanish) associations from three social initiative developed to promote cultural projects and youth work (Association Ystävärt Nuorten Ry, Finland, EV Jugensozialwer Nordhausen, Germany, and Copedeco S. Coop. from Spain).
Young people have developed the activities of living in different municipalities in the region, among which is Molina de Segura, which on Saturday made an intercultural mural artist led by Juan Alvarez.
They have also participated in the environmental development of the region, particularly in Cieza, where they have planted trees on the banks of the River Segura.
This is the second of three exchanges included in the project, the first was in Germany during the month of September 2007.
It aims to encourage a meeting between young people from different European countries and their cultures, open to partnerships and awareness of belonging to Europe.
These are young people with social features that make it difficult to access social resources in a standardized way and need support and socio media to foster full inclusion in society.
