The Director of Roads, Jose Guijarro, today visited the works to improve the intersection of Tower Road Montijo, in Molina de Segura, where the Ministry of Public Works and Land Management built a gazebo and new sidewalks and crosswalks to increase road safety for pedestrians and drivers.
The work started last September relating to the highway RM-B6, which communicates with Molina de Segura Lorquí through the N-301.
Vehicular traffic in the RM-B6 over 2.3 million vehicles a year and gives access across the road from Torre de Montijo, numerous farms and private homes as well as several bus stops.
In this sense, Pebble said that "directly benefit the residents of the area, and those who move in the environment of the shopping center or industrial park Eroski The Serreta, located nearby."
The performance with a budget of 388,000 euros will improve the visibility of the crossing as the existing intersection will become a one lane roundabout with six meters wide.
Thus, the general director explained that "the roundabouts are one of the most effective tools for eliminating black spots, has shown that cross-roundabouts at intersections or type x mean reducing fatalities by almost 100 by 100 because the drivers are forced to slow down. "
In addition, the project includes creating new sidewalks, improve existing bus stops, install new signs, markings and lighting and replace the services of the area.
