Medical Research Foundation of Molina de Segura (FEM) presented at a press conference today, Friday June 5, the next conference of scientific (number 40), to be held in Molina de Segura (College auditorium Child Education Paseo Rosales) on Friday June 12, 2009, at 20.00, with free entry, under the title of Osteoarthritis: cartilage damage and new treatments with cell cultures, led by Dr. Pedro Guillén García, Professor Trauma and Director of the Crinica Cemtro in Madrid.
The conference is organized by the WEF, the city of Molina de Segura and the Hospital de Molina, sponsored by the Caixa.
The presentation was made by Dr. James Clabo, orthopedic surgeon at the Hospital de Molina, and Josefina García Lozano, Secretary of the EMF.
From a young age, Pedro Guillén (The Algaida, Archena, 1937) took special interest in medicine as his vacations to accompany and help Don Pedro, the Archena doctor who treated patients who visited the spa town.
His early calling led him to do in Murcia a pre-med and then transferred to the University Complutense of Madrid, which would license in 1964.
It was a boarder General Surgery with Dr. Durán Sacristán Martín Lagos and the Clinical Hospital San Carlos, and Madrid's La Paz hospital was supervised by J.
Palacios Carvajal.
Soon to be professor at the Complutense University and in 1972 obtained the head of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery Mapfre center.
Defended his degree in 1986 with a rating of outstanding, which was given a Doctorate Cum Laude.
His specialization in trauma surgery, with special attention to the pathologies of the knee, has given numerous professional successes.
He is a member of various national and international medical associations, has received numerous awards including an honorary doctorate by the Constantinian University in Providence, USA.
Currently divides his time between his work as chair and surgeon Cemtro clinic in Madrid, in many seminars and conferences, research programs in the field of trauma and the co-direction of the School of Sport Traumatology UCAM de Murcia.
