The presentation of 39 International Theatre Festival Molina de Segura, organized by the city of Molina de Segura, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in the Region of Murcia, was held on Tuesday 9th September in the Archaeological Museum of Murcia.
The event was attended by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pedro Alberto Cruz, Councillor of Culture, Mariola Martinez Robles, and the Director of the Festival, José Antonio García Molina.
Theatre Festival 39 will run for 10 days, starting on Thursday October 2 and ends on Saturday 11 November.
A total of 17 companies will be 56 performances, with a wide range of proposals.
Explains the Councillor of Culture, "the structure of the festival is held over the previous year, locating in the street most of the activities.
This will complement the Festival seeks to programming of the Teatro Villa de Molina.
We have always highlighted the benefits of open spaces, the most mundane, the most affordable, those who every day we go and where we interact more, which are ideal for carrying out the festive events the Festival Theatre offers these days .
Places of coexistence that are transformed for a few days so that our citizens can relax, enjoy, marvel and contrast with your family, friends and neighbors their opinions, likes and dislikes theater. "
The Molina Theatre Festival continues to promote the street and there is the proposal of this and past years.
On this occasion, the Festival has provided financial support through co-production, the work of a prominent actor Murcia, Anton Valen, who returns after his successful career with the Cirque du Soleil. He, along with producer Nacho Vilar , have led to the creation of BusinessClass, which premieres at the Festival premiere.
Show that it has joined the Truth as presented in the same.
The rest of the program included the participation of groups like Malabar (France) and CIE.
L'autre et L'links (Belgium), who bring a remarkable and innovative work.
They join other fine companies up to a total of 17 groups that offer a total of 56 performances.
Performances for all audiences and all theatrical desires of citizens who can see most of them for the first time in the region.
So is the block of late-night music sessions.
Already there are several issues in which these activities take place and, this year, are greatly strengthened with performances by the likes Alex Germaine Coppini and Bruges, the group La Fuente and molinense Paquito Sanchez, a flamenco show Fusion; Distillates with Malcolm Scarpa and Naco Goñi, The Liverpool Band, and Mürfila will close the festival on the big closing party.
As for the room, this edition will be first-line entertainment.
There will be three and, in order to act, first, on Tuesday 7, Joglars Company presents its latest show, The Dinner, another great work to which we are accustomed to its director, Albert Boadella.
On Wednesday 8 Molina de Segura again after 10 years, Mambo Guys, now based in Paris, we remember his charming assembly Meli Melo, and do so with the second installment Return.
And finally, we see the work of Anabel Alonso's staging of've never been so adorable, a play about family relationships also invites reflection on the idiosyncrasies of the middle class.
The Councillor of Culture has taken the presentation to advance what will be the new project for the 40th Festival.
"El Festival de Teatro de Molina, flagship of our city, it deserves to have recognition beyond that which we grant those who know and live it year after year.
We want to try it again to be a reference that is an expected and desired range, an encounter outside of the ordinary, everyday and that is, essentially, a perfect complement to the Theatre program. "
"Molina de Segura, through demonstrations of this kind has always had a special sensitivity to the theater in America.
The theater made across the Atlantic has a very special and essential qualities: language.
Text of authors gives us Americans who see it as, at present, are succeeding in Spain and worldwide.
We offer tailored versions of Hispanic authors to social or political reality of each country.
We offer a very diverse culture with roots in each country and with the crossbreeding of Iberian culture.
We propose, in short, a different form of observing the theater, which leads to enrichment of knowledge and human relationships in that role for the transfer and exchange of cultures, "says Mariola Martinez.
To enable this exchange will be one of the key objectives of the Festival, so as a platform for exposure of different shows in Spain and, in turn, act as a shuttle of our productions, which made the festival itself and related companies Murcia, which have always been present in their programming.
"Thus, the Festival will find a clear direction for the theater that comes from America, obviously giving priority to the countries of Central and South America, not to mention that Hispanic theater and general interest which is made in North America," adds Councillor.
