Jacinto Benavente (1866-1954) is one of the most important Spanish dramatists of the first half of the twentieth century, along with Valle-Inclan, Arniches, Jardiel or García Lorca.
This is a family tragedy, whose theme is built around a love triangle: on the day of the marriage proposal of Acacia, her boyfriend is killed.
