The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, today participated in the ceremony of an isothermal van Carrefour Solidarity Foundation has conducted the Food Bank Safe for the collection and delivery of food to 130 entities with which it collaborates, serving 44,000 people.
The owner of Agriculture was accompanied by the Regional Director of Carrefour, Javier Bausset;
the director of the Carrefour Solidarity Foundation, María Cid;
President of the Food Bank of Segura, Bonifacio Fernández;
and the Second Deputy Mayor of Murcia, Maruja Pelegrín.
The owner of Agriculture and Water stressed the "admirable work" of food banks and the "exemplary support" of companies that collaborate with the donation of food and equipment to these entities.
He highlighted the "social aspect" of the Solidarity Foundation Carrefour, which in 2014 gave out 5.5 million kilos of food for over 70,000 people.
This Foundation was created 14 years ago to work with people and groups most in need and has donated 31 vehicles allowed equip 60 percent of food banks in Spain.
