The College of Education and Primary Cervantes de Molina de Segura has won first prize in the National Contest of Ecological School Gardens Primary category with a project called 'The bancalico of Cervantes'.
The prize, awarded by the Association Vida Sana and Triodos Foundation, is an award and a cash prize of 1,000 euros that the center will allocate to the project.
The general director of Educational Quality, Innovation and Attention to Diversity, Begoña Iniesta, Tuesday visited the school accompanied by the Councillor for Education of Molina de Segura, Remedios López, and members of the management thereof.
"This award is a reward at the Colegio Cervantes commitment to environmental education with a project that promotes among schoolchildren respect for nature and related to organic farming and healthy lifestyle values," said Begoña Iniesta.
The CEIP Cervantes participates in this competition since its first edition, held in 2012-2013.
He has also participated as a speaker at the conference EsenRed and during school gardens being held today.
In this year, which has won the CEIP Cervantes, involving a total of 157 schools throughout Spain.
The awards ceremony was held on November 16 during the celebration of the Biocultura fair held in Madrid.
