Last Saturday was the transfer of the relics of Blessed Fulgencio Martinez Garcia to the Sacred Heart of Ribera de Molina (Molina de Segura), during the Mass celebrated by the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Bishop Jose Manuel Lorca Plans.
During the homily, the bishop recalled the life of Blessed Fulgencio Martinez who was martyred on October 4, 1936, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Third Order Secular Franciscan whose belonged from the seminar.
He died at 25 years and one year after being ordained priest.
In the last letter he sent to his parents, he showed his composure to die for Christ, "featuring life in reparation for my sins, and that the sooner I finish this fight that is bloodying to Spain".
At the offertory, the relics of Blessed Fulgencio Martinez were deposited in a chapel of the church where they will be venerated by all the faithful who come to the temple.
The Diocese of Cartagena held on Saturday, November 9, the Mass of Thanksgiving for the four new blessed of the Diocese of Cartagena, who were beatified on October 13 in Tarragona: P.
Antonio Faúndez, Fr Buenaventura Muñoz, Pedro Sanchez Barba and Fulgencio Martinez.
The celebration of the Eucharist, presided by Bishop Lorca Planes will take place in the Cathedral, at 11:00.
