The Department of Environment of the City of Molina de Segura, in collaboration with the Association Ragpickers Emmaus, has launched new Integrated Programme of batteries from households.
Ragpickers Emmaus will be responsible to collect used batteries and exhausted citizens deposited in the containers installed for this purpose.
This is a non-profit association dedicated to the social integration of people at risk of exclusion or situation, with people who accompany them in their recovery process personal, social and labor and productive activity that develops as the collection, classification , recycling and reuse of household waste.
When using batteries, there is no risk of contamination as effectively isolates the capsule inside the medium.
Once worn, over time and when exposed to environmental factors such as humidity, sun, etc., The external capsule progressively deteriorates and breaks, releasing all the chemicals that are part of its structure.
To avoid the negative consequences of uncontrolled cell, the City of Molina de Segura put back up battery collection POINTS (PRP) for the shops where batteries are sold (photo shops, watches, jewelry, electronics bazaars, hardware stores, supermarkets ...), to public schools, municipal buildings, schools and any other public upon request.
These establishments are easily accessible to all citizens, thus facilitating that they can deposit their used batteries, eliminating and household waste, minimizing risks and promoting the culture of recycling, social awareness and individual responsibility.
