A total of 40 people with some form of dementia project will benefit Creative Therapies for people with dementia, holding the Association of Relatives of Patients with Alzheimer's or other dementias of Molina de Segura (AFAD Molina), funded by the Social Work Caixa.
The initiative was presented at a press conference, Wednesday Dec. 5, at City Hall molinense by local mayor, Eduardo Contreras Linares, President of AFAD, Jose Antonio Lopez Gomez and Business Area Director of Caixa in Molina de Segura, José Eugenio Martinez Ruiz.
AFAD Molina and Obra Social La Caixa signed, last July, a collaboration agreement for the development of this project, selected by Obra Social La Caixa in his call for Projects Promoting Autonomy and Care Disability and Dependence 2012 , which provides financial assistance of 18,100 euros.
Its purpose is complete, creative and artistic therapies, the treatment of people with dementia who attend the center AFAD Molina.
Thus, cognitive therapies are already users, will add creative and artistic activities, such as music therapy, art therapy and laughter therapy.
At present, there are already 20 people with some form of dementia that participate in daily activities stimulative artistic, enjoying at least 5 hours of daily stimulation and varied.
The project started on October 1, 2012 and will end in July 2013, and is estimated to be involving 40 people during this period.
