The Social Integration Workshop of the Department of Social Welfare of the City of Molina de Segura, developed through the City of Immigrants Programme, has come to an end this June.
Aimed at the immigrant population of the town, its aim has been to promote the social integration of people into the town to access the resource standard.
The workshops have been conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays from October 2011 to June 2012.
In total, were 22, carried out in different sessions, among which are: crafts, jewelry, tiles, manicure, beauty, cooking, hand sewing, machine sewing, embroidery, cross stitch, mold, paint on glass and painting on fabric, cultures and religions, shopping for Christmas, Carnival, relaxation, health, participation, partnership, communication, family relationships and social skills for the job search.
The development of the workshops was awarded to local intervention team, volunteers from the town and the very group of women workers, who have participated in the various schedules.
Involving a total of 330 attendees, with an average of 15 people per session.
The age of students ranges from the 22 to 60 years.
The most representative nationalities are Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Senegal, Nigeria, Ecuador, Bolivia, Colombia, Morocco and Algeria.
The Councillor for Social Welfare, Lola Vicente Quiles, stressed "the great work done both by volunteers and by the technicians involved throughout the entire course."
