The city of Molina de Segura, in collaboration with the neighborhood association of Barrio San Roque and faculty and alumni / ae of the College Cervantes, has conducted, on Friday 27 April, planting about 200 plants in a forest stretch of the Rambla of whales passing through the neighborhood, an area that had previously been cleaned of debris and trash by workers of the Department of Environment and the City Store.
Various species have been planted as mastic, rock rose, lavender, rosemary, tamarisks and mulberry trees.
In the activity, coordinated by the City Biologist, Carmen Mondejar, participating pupils of Colegio Cervantes, and have been present Councillor for Environment, Worship Molina Lopez, President of the association of residents of San Roque, Isabel Lopez , and the Director of the school, Inmaculada Ortiz.
The purpose of this environmental education activity is to sensitize students to the importance of recovering natural areas and involve the residents of this district in improving its green areas, so to assist in their conservation and maintenance.
It has also undertaken the planting of 4 oranges and 2 lemons provided by the association of residents of San Roque, a symbol of recovery of the ancient terraces of fruit trees that existed in the vicinity of this road.
