The Mayor of Molina de Segura and Vice Chairman of the Information Society and New Technologies of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), Eduardo Contreras Linares, has participated in the National Congress of Interoperability and Security (CNIS) which was held in Madrid on 22 and 23 February at the headquarters of the Fabrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre.
Eduardo Contreras participated in a panel discussion called Leadership, equality and political commitment, along with three other politicians from different Spanish towns.
In developing the discussion covered issues of public concern related to new technologies and progress in eGovernment issues by different administrations.
The discussion focused on: the impact of the Law 11/2007 on Citizens' Electronic Access to Public Services, transparency of management, the different channels of citizen participation in public life, and collaboration between citizens, businesses and government in all matters relating to the Information Society.
The CNIS has had a high turnout and the various conferences have been allowed to know the current status of the various authorities in all matters relating to Information Technology and Communications, and the sharing of ideas and aims to provide citizens with a quality public service, where technology becomes the key to increase efficiency and streamline administrative services.
