The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, and Social Policy Adviser, Women and Migration in the Region of Murcia, Joaquín García Bascuñana have made today, Wednesday 24 November, a visit to the Centro Integral Astrada, located on Highway the Chorrico (compared to Parque Los Juncos).
Also attended the event the President of Association for the Care of Persons with Autism and Other Pervasive Developmental Disorders in the Region of Murcia (Astrada), Maria Soledad Guerrero Ferre, and Councillor of Social Welfare, Worship Molina López.
The new residential and occupational center has been built on land donated by the city of Molina de Segura to the partnership.
As underlined by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras, "the City has contributed to this major project through the provision of citizens of some land as part of the municipal public property. I think this is also a good way working for persons with disabilities. "
The work has been funded through the agreement signed between the Autonomous Community of Murcia and Astrada, whereby the regional administration has provided 1,924,141 euros and the association, 641,380 during the period 2007/2010.
To date, we have built three of the four buildings planned, and in the near future will be undertaken the works of four buildings.
Astrada deals with people with autism and other pervasive developmental disorders.
The new center will be addressed occupational and residential developmental disabilities, to enable occupational and residential service, and will be operational in a first phase in January 2011, with 8 resident spaces and 20 spaces Day Centre When fully operational, the center will host a total of 16 residents and 44 spaces Day Centre
