The façade of the Molina de Segura Town Hall has, since last February 28, displayed the banner with the feminist symbol for the commemoration of March 8, and as a show of support for feminist demands.
The Department of Equality has wanted to stage its support for feminist demands and encourages citizens to join it and "require public authorities to support this more than just claim", in the words of the Councilor for Equality, Rocio Balsalobre Sánchez.
"We want to contribute with this type of acts to raise awareness about the need to promote the values of equality and justice, we are not talking about a banner, we are talking about a right, we are talking about macho violence, the glass ceiling, breaking with everyone the obstacles that women face every day, "says the mayor.
The salary gap exceeds 36% in the Murcia Region, which makes inequality evident, therefore it is necessary and urgent to implement policies on equal remuneration.
Recently the Councilor for Equality presented at a press conference with the Mayor, Esther Clavero, the program for the commemoration of March 8, which will take place from February to June 2018.
The reading of the manifesto del8 de Marz took place on February 26, during the celebration of the ordinary Municipal Plenary of February.
