The Bastards of Shakespeare (Murcia) represents THE HOUSE OF BERNARDA ALBA, directed by Andrés Antonio Mondéjar Medina, within the II Festival of Amateur Theater of Molina de Segura, on Friday, January 19, at 9:00 pm, at the Teatro Villa de Molina (in Avenida del Chorrico, n ° 10).
The price of the ticket is 5 euros.
Eighty-one years have passed since its drafting and with this perspective it takes more and more strength the historical and social character of this work.
That is to say, there is a will to reflect History with a capital of a people oppressed in their freedom and in their sexuality by civil, religious and military powers that, given the moment, like Bernarda, will not hesitate to use violence with the order to impose his will.
It is the image of fascism, of the denial of freedom and of the annulment of the person in his most basic instincts.
We believe that we are facing a distant history, that the fascisms are far from us, but we must not forget that today there are clouds on the horizon with populisms and the rise of totalitarian regimes that are nothing but the sinister image of Bernarda who lives hidden in the depths of our collective identity and that, given the conjuncture of an increasingly stupid society, victim of ominous education laws, is alert to jump over us again.
The play is performed by the actors Rosana Esparza, Elisa Almagro, Juan Vigueras, Adrián Castellón, María Mondéjar, Mª José Imperial, Miriam García and Leyre Ortiz.
