The report on Economic Aid in Support of Children in terms of textbooks and educational materials for the 2017-2018 course of the Molina de Segura City Council, granted through the Department of Social Welfare, indicates that, during the period covered Between the end of the previous school year and the beginning of the current course, 269 applications have been received, and a result of: 188 grants has been obtained;
76 denied, 3 abandoned and 2 pending.
The total amount of the files of favorable resolution amounts to 46,123.05 euros.

These aids are included in the Municipal Ordinance of Support for Children, prepared by the Department of Social Welfare of the City of Molina de Segura, and published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia BORM on October 5, 2017.
The estimate of the amount of books that have been collected from the previous course and subsequently allocated to children who have specified this course amounts to 16,307.02 euros, so that the total amount of aid amounts to 62,430.07 euros.
The better use of resources has, in turn, facilitated greater coverage for beneficiaries, as they have been favored by books in kind collected the previous year and financial aid for those who needed it.
The period for requesting aid for books and school supplies is not closed.
Although the massive request is made in the first months of the beginning of the school year, it can be requested during the whole course, since the aid in concept of books and school material may be necessary at another time for transfer of municipality, change of educational center , etc.

General requirements to request assistance
To request assistance, the following requirements must be met:
Family unit will have to be registered at least six months in the municipality.
The student must study at a teaching center supported by public funds within the municipality of Molina de Segura, unless there is a sufficiently justified cause.
The levels to which the aid is directed are: second cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education and Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), Basic Vocational Training, Baccalaureate, and Training Cycles of Middle and Higher Degree.

Book grants are granted to minors with family units in a situation of vulnerability with which, in general, both technical support and the application of resources allow them to solve the personal and social problems they present.
According to the Councilor for Social Welfare, Angel Navarro, "technically it has been valued that the new aid application system has allowed to manage and streamline in the best way, so that children can have what is necessary for their education and learning, as for a more suitable administration of the economic resources destined for such purpose ".
