The Hospital de Molina is a finalist in the category of Excellence in the Health Sector of the 2017 Kaizen Lean Awards, with which, for the fifth consecutive year, companies and personalities that have contributed to the improvement of competitiveness through Operational excellence
Under the title LEAN SIX SIGMA for the improvement of medication errors, the finalist project has been developed in recent years at the Hospital de Molina, achieving a 65% improvement in drug-therapy treatment in hospitalized patients, since the Patient enters the hospital until the medication is administered.
In the words of the Manager of Molina Hospital, Pedro Hernández Jiménez, "it is a very important recognition that our first LEAN SIX SIGMA project is a finalist in these 2017 Kaizen Lean Awards. At our Hospital we are committed to quality and within our management system we include , since 2011, the LEAN and SIX SIGMA improvement methodologies, which combine to solve problems and increase quality, always directed towards the service we provide to our patients, precisely, our finalist project is part of this philosophy and, more specifically, in improving patient safety, responding to our main commitment to our users. "
Hernández Jiménez has assured that the Hospital de Molina will continue with this and other improvement projects, combining LEAN tools, with the statistical control of the quality and the DMAIC methodology that SIX SIGMA provides.
The consultancyKaizen Institute, specialized in continuous improvement and process optimization, in collaboration with the Spanish Association for Quality (AEC), the PSA Group and the Cluster of Automotive Companies of Galicia (CEAGA), will deliver the 2017 Kaizen Lean Awards, in a ceremony on November 30 in Madrid.
