The Molina Hospital Pain Unit begins its activity, under the direction of Drs.
José López Vidal and Martín García Muñoz, specialists in Anesthesia, Resuscitation and Treatment of pain.
Its objective: to improve the quality of life of patients, alleviating pain and improving their functional capacity: "We have a multidisciplinary vocation, since we are aware that in the approach to pain not only suffices a specialist, but it is necessary to resort to the collaboration of other colleagues: traumatologists, rehabilitators, neurosurgeons, psychologists, psychiatrists, ..., to help us treat patients properly. We are convinced that we can count on the collaboration of hospital professionals for this purpose "say those responsible for the Pain Unit.
In this Unit focused on the study, diagnosis and treatment of pain, with a marked interventionist character that complements the pharmacological treatment that is prescribed will be treated:
Pain of the rachis: degenerative processes (lumbalgias, cervicalgias, sdme facetario, ...), discogenic, radiculopathies, coccigodinias, postlaminectomy pain or in general after rachis surgery, etc.
Joint pain: gonarthrosis, coxarthrosis, painful shoulder, pain after PTR, etc.
Cancer pain
Neuropathic pain: postherpetic neuralgia, sciatica, phantom limb, surgical wound pain, complex regional pain syndrome, etc.

In addition to pharmacological treatment, the Pain Unit has different invasive techniques, such as epidural infiltrations (lumbar, caudal or cervical), lumbar-dorsal or cervical facet blocks, radiofrequency of peripheral nerves, nerve roots, Intrathecal reservoirs and pumps, neurostimulation, etc.
