Double K Theater (Murcia) presents the play YERMA, by Federico García Lorca, directed by Javier Mateo, on Friday, May 19, at 9 pm at the Teatro Villa de Molina (at Avenida del Chorrico, No. 10) .
The entrance fee is 10 euros.
The work is carried out by the actors Inmaculada Rufete, Alfredo Zamora, Toni Medina, Eva Torres, María Alarcón and Paquita Martínez.
The solitude of the effort, the lack of communication with its surroundings and the impossibility of moving away from the established social and moral canons, hinders and represses the instinct and the purpose of our heroine, which contrasts with the fertility of the outside world, in which she finds the Antithesis to its existence.
For that reason, and inexorably, like any great tragic person, he will find a destiny in correspondence with the magnitude of his obsession.
Intense, strong, extreme and excessive, Yerma continues to overwhelm us, despite talking to us from a rural past not so distant in which, apart from the hierarchical function in the education of children, the reproductive capacity of women was valued, In contrast to the current times in which maternity is postponed, induced, shared or avoided voluntarily.
Perhaps for this reason, more than ever, we should once again relive the telluric yearning of Yerma, and question ourselves for what it represents today.
