José Antonio Fernández Lladó, general director of roads, visited this morning the improvement works carried out on the RM-411 highways, which connect Archena with Fortuna and the RM-A5, linking Molina de Segura with Fortuna, both in the Municipal motorway, which circulate about 1.8 million vehicles a year, and whose actions have meant an investment of 48,000 euros.
On the RM-411 road, which runs more than 1.4 million vehicles a year, the works have been carried out on the left bank, between kilometers 4.4 and 5.4, and have consisted of cleaning Gutter and weed, outline and compact the bottom of the gutter and cast concrete, making joints of expansion every three meters.
The director general explained that "the gutter was filled with dirt and undergrowth and with these works the drainage is improved and the land is prevented from going to the circulation lane whenever it rains."
As for the road RM-A5, there were several sections in poor condition with localized subsidence that made the circulation difficult and where puddles formed when it rained.
The works have consisted in the repair of the potholes, adding asphalt agglomerate and compacándolo to equal the surface, so that the road has been in perfect conditions for the circulation.
This road supports an annual traffic of more than 355,000 vehicles.
