The current Municipal Waste Molina de Segura, located in the Polvorista site, has closed and can no longer be used, as reported by the Councilor for the Environment of Molina de Segura City Council, María Purificación Carbonell Capel.
Until a new waste dump is started, small deposits of inert waste should be taken to the Clean Point of the locality, in the El Tapiado industrial estate, while the rest of larger deposits should be delivered to an authorized manager.
From now on, when a work permit is granted, the Molinense City Council informs promoters that inert waste of medium or large size must be deposited through an authorized manager.
"After the current municipal waste dump, due to the end of its useful life, we are in an interim situation until a new area of inert waste collection is put in place, as a step prior to the authorization of a new Dump, whose process is slower, "explains the Councilor for the Environment.
The closed dump was put into operation in December 2003, with an area of 91,890 m2 and an estimated useful volume of 1,032,220 m3.
Its management and operation have corresponded to the service company SERCOMOSA.
