Eduardo Contreras spoke Monday at an event organized by the Commission of Telecommunications Market and Localret
The Vice-Chairman of the Information Society and New Technologies of the Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, has participated in the V Meeting on Telecommunications and Local Government, held 28 and 29 June in Barcelona, and organized by the Telecommunications Market Commission (CMT) and LOCALRET.
The sessions have focused on reforming the regulatory framework for electronic communications and the opportunity for the local world.
It has also affected the power of planning and urban management in the development of telecommunications infrastructure and broadband in smaller municipalities.
Linares Contreras, speaking Monday June 28, has affected the ability of local governments to become providers of telecommunications services precisely where operators fail.
For the Chairman of the Committee for New Technologies, municipalities are the best quality vehicle for radio telecommunication infrastructure, and that through its bylaws must regulate urban planning and environmental conditions to which they must submit the location, installation and operation of these infrastructures.
