| The measuring stations of Alcatarilla and San Basilio did not exceed 50 µg / m3 this Sunday, a limit value that forces the adoption of preventive measures | The City Council of Molina de Segura has deactivated today, Monday, August 3, the package of preventive measures that were adopted yesterday, Sunday, August 2, when registering a decrease in the level of particles in stations measuring the air quality of Alcantarilla and San Basilio, stations of the Urban Agglomeration Zone of Murcia in which the town is located. The General Directorate for the Environment of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia has reported that yesterday, August 2, 2020, none of the levels established in the Framework Protocol for Municipal Action was registered in the aforementioned measuring stations. Yesterday's daily average at the Alcantarilla station was 45µg / m3 and at the San Basilio station 46µg / m3.
The limit value, which requires the adoption of preventive measures, is 50 µg / m3. On Sunday, August 2, the City of Molina de Segura was forced to take preventive measures, in application of the protocols for atmospheric contamination, having exceeded the levels of particle contamination the previous day at the Alcantarilla measurement station, something that coincided with an episode of intrusion of air of Saharan origin in the southeast of the peninsula.
The Councilor for the Environment, Mariano Vicente Albaladejo does not rule out that, given the weather forecasts, preventive measures should be activated soon.
