The Department of Sports and Health of the City of Molina de Segura organizes the IV Municipal League of Sports Diversity, with the collaboration of students of TAFAD of the centers Los Olivos, IES Juan Carlos I of Murcia and IES Las Torres de Cotillas, the Club Waterpolo Táder Molina, and the group of sports volunteers of the Molina de Segura Senior Center (IMAS).
The initiative was presented at a press conference on Monday, January 27, at the Molinense City Council, by the Councilor for Sports and Health, Miguel Ángel Cantero García, the Coordinator of the Sports Diversity area of ​​the Department of Sports and Health, Manuel Vicente Mondéjar, the athlete Cristina Sánchez Sánchez, who competes for TEDIS, and the athlete Daniel García Álvarez, who competes for the Open Classroom of the IES Cañada de las Eras.
The league is part of the activities that the Department of Sports and Health carries out as part of its program to promote physical activity and sport as essential means for a healthy lifestyle and a meeting point with a strong character inclusive and normalizer.
The objectives of the league are: to promote, sensitize and give visibility to people with other capacities or infrequent diseases through sports and physical activity;
and generate synergies between different groups of Molina de Segura and future and future professionals of physical and sports activity in the Region of Murcia, and intergenerational.
The teams participating in the IV edition of the league are associations for the care of people with disabilities in Molina de Segura (ASPAPROS, ASTRADE, DISMO and TEDIS), and the open classrooms of the IES of the municipality (Cañada de las Eras and Eduardo Linares Lumeras).
This year the number of teams is increased to 7 and, for the first time, there will be a team from outside the town, such as the Open Classroom Poet Julián Andúgar de Santomera.
The participation of more than 175 athletes is expected.
Two sports modalities are established, one for competition and the other for various games.
Depending on the abilities of the athletes, the teams can be mixed.
The first day of the league will begin on Thursday, January 30, with the petanque test, and will end on Wednesday, June 17, with the swimming championship and the closing party.
