The XXIII Carol de Molina Choral Competition, organized by the Molinense City Council and coordinated by the Kodály Coral, is held on Saturday, December 14, at 8:00 p.m., at the Villa de Molina Theater (in Avenida del Chorrico, No. 10).
The entrance fee is 3 euros.
The contest is developed in a competitive format, and this year it has the intervention of four choirs:
Young Choir of Murcia.
Xolo White Voices
Myrtea coral.
Young Section of the Orfeón Murciano Fernández Caballero.
This year, as a novelty, choirs of equal voices (Xolo and Orfeón) are admitted.
As an obligatory Christmas carol, the participating choirs will perform In mísero stable, by Juan Sandoval from Molinense, and harmonized by Marcelo Beltrán.
The contest will award four prizes:
First prize: € 1,500.
Second prize: € 1,000.
Third prize: € 500.
Audience prize: € 300.
The Carol de Molina Choral Competition is born as a result of the important tradition and choral activity that the municipality has.
With its celebration, the Department of Culture intends to continue promoting the development of a cultural practice in which a large number of citizens of Molina de Segura participates.
