The City of Molina de Segura and the Association for Those Affected by Parkinson's Disease and other neurological disorders of Molina de Segura (APAMOL) have signed an agreement for the comprehensive rehabilitation of those affected by neurodegenerative and neurological diseases with limited economic resources, as reported the First Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García.
The agreement includes a municipal grant of 7,500 euros.
APAMOL is committed to meeting the following objectives with this project:
Provide the municipality of Molina de Segura with a resource of socio-sanitary assistance that covers the needs of people affected by Parkinson's disease and / or brain damage.
Implement a series of resources to achieve the full recovery of the sick person with maximum physical, mental and social development.
Offer Neuro Rehabilitation treatment to people affected by Parkinson's or other cognitive impairments of the municipality that need it and have low income.
APAMOL serves people affected by Parkinson's neurodegenerative disease, dementia, brain damage or other cognitive impairments associated with diseases.
The beneficiaries of the services are between 30 and 80 years old.
APAMOL undertakes to carry out the following actions:
Rehabilitation of physical sequels.
Physiotherapy.
Rehabilitation of speech or communication.
Occupational Therapy
Cognitive stimulation.
Psychological attention.
Family support for the sick and family.
Speech Therapist and Communication Mediation.
Nutrition and Pharmacology.
Assisted therapy with animals.
Music therapy, art therapy, etc.
The agreement also includes the commitment of the entity to take into account the Social and Labor Insertion Exchange of the City of Molina, aimed at promoting the integration into the labor market of unemployed people in the municipality.
The APAMOL Day Center is located in the El Jardín de Molina de Segura Center, and has: 2 psychologists, 1 speech therapist, 1 technician in assisted therapy with dogs, 1 physiotherapist and 3 volunteers.
Its business hours are three days a week.
The workshops are attended by an average of between 25 and 30 people.
In Spain there are between 120,000 and 150,000 people affected by Parkinson's disease and, specifically, in the Region of Murcia there are 18,000 older people affected by Alzheimer's disease.
