Citizens have unblocked the final approval of the municipal budgets for this year, by dismissing in the vote of the last extraordinary plenary session the allegations that the union Comisiones Obreras had made to the local accounts.
"Our councilors have voted in favor of dismissing the allegations, because we are aware that this action implies the final approval of the municipal budgets for the year 2019, which were already approved initially during the municipal election campaign," said the orange spokeswoman, María Dolores García.
"Although Citizens was not part of the Corporation at that time, we assumed our responsibility and we have encouraged the approval of the budget, because to continue blocking it would have meant further delaying the subsidies or aid to which certain groups and associations may be entitled," he added. The liberal mayor has said that "our main task is to monitor the work of the government team, but we also have the responsibility to try to streamline the functions of the local administration and not hinder it."
