The president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, participated today, in Molina de Segura, in the procession held in honor of the Virgen de la Consolacion, patron saint of the municipality.
Lopez Miras said that "the regional government defends the culture and traditions of the 45 municipalities.
Our heritage is the living legacy that the past generations have left us and that legacy must be taken care of and put into value ".
The celebrations in honor of the Virgen de la Consolación date back to the 18th century, when the residents of Molina de Segura began to transfer the image from their hermitage to the church of La Asunción.
In 1929 he obtained canonical consecration from the Diocese of Cartagena.
