The Councillor for Citizen Security of the City of Molina de Segura, Arias Fortunato City, held yesterday, Monday 17 May, a meeting with neighborhood representatives and dealers to report the entry into force of the new Road Safety Act 18/2009 to be held on 24 May and the most significant developments with respect to the above law.
Among the new features can be highlighted:
- Elimination of the temporary suspension of the license as a sanction, only driving license suspended at end point balance.
- Reducing the period of limitation for very serious infringements of twelve to six months.
- The parking spaces reserved for disabled people is now serious misconduct.
- Cyclists may travel on highways, unless expressly prohibited by signage.
The bike must have reflectors, as well as their drivers while operating interurban roads, and these also required at night on urban roads.
- Set a fixed amount for penalties: mild (up to 100 euros), severe (200 euros) and very severe (500 euros).
- Establish a 50% discount for early payment of penalties (20 days).
The Councillor for Citizen Security reported that the city of Molina de Segura, in the offenses considered minor, shall not impose the maximum, but the amount is set at 80 euros, which, with the maximum reduction of 50% set by the law soon payment would remain at 40 euros.
