The opening ceremony of the construction of the road option RM 411 as it passes through the hamlet of Upper Campotéjar Molina de Segura has taken place on Thursday 25 February, with assistance from the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares , the Director of Public Works and Planning of the Region of Murcia, José Ballesta Hermann, General Director of Roads in the Region of Murcia, José Guijarro Gallego, and Councilman Works and Infrastructure, Daniel Soltero Chaves.
The project involved the construction of a new road near the hamlet of Campotéjar High, providing the inhabitants of Molina de Segura a more agile and secure connection with the A 30 (Albacete / Cartagena), one of the roads most important of the Region of Murcia.
This action has led to the elimination of a dangerous curve and restructuring existing traffic, because the work has involved the construction of a variant that prevents the passage of traffic through the population center near the hamlet of Campotéjar Alta, and reduces thus, the risk of accidents from the old section, running through facilities such as a nursery, a day center for seniors, a doctor and a chapel.
The work has received an investment of 835,179 euros, and is included in the Road Safety Plan regional government, through which you have removed a total of 22 tranches accident concentration in 2009 and allow the deletion of another 13 points blacks this year.
For works of this road improvement was carried out, between mile markers 0.8 and 2.2, the construction of a new road, thus avoiding crossing an urban area.
The refurbishment works have involved the construction of a variant of the previous route, which has two lanes of 3.5 meters, one for each direction, and 1.5 meter shoulders.
In its final stretch, and to connect the new path with the old road has been carried out the construction of a roundabout with two lanes to four meters.
Moreover, to facilitate access by a municipal road which crosses the new layout, there have been adapting the works of an underpass.
Finally, we have carried out the installation of lighting at the roundabout and the placement of new signs horizontal, vertical and beacon.
