Open to the public the Green Corridor Southeast Molina de Segura, crossing Altorreal and The Alcayna (24/02/2010)

The project of the City of Molina de Segura has an investment of 100,000 euros, financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water and Caixa

The laying of the information sign the first section of the Green Corridor Southeast Molina de Segura, and its public opening took place today Wednesday 24 February, along Highway A5 Molina / Fortuna, km.

11,500 (between Rambla Las Salinas and Motocross circuit Rabbits).

Attended by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, the Director General of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity in the Region of Murcia, Pablo Fernández Abellán, the Director of Business Area of the Caixa in the Molina de Segura, José Ruiz Marin and the Councillor for the Environment, Consuelo Rosauro Meseguer.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Water has conditioned this first installment of the Green Corridor Southeast Molina de Segura, which flows through the towns of Altorreal and The Alcayna (Tranche de la Rambla Las Salinas).

The project, developed by the city of Molina de Segura, has received an investment of 100,000 euros, financed by the Ministry and the Caixa.

The works have affected the flight of Rambla Las Salinas, located southeast of Molina de Segura, and have included the preparation using gravel from about seven miles of nature trails for nonmotorized traffic, whose ownership belongs to the City Council and the public domain molinense and bonded by the Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs.

Also parking is enabled by compaction of sand, and other actions have been implemented: clearings and plantations selected for the recovery of that promenade and other parts of the corridor, clearing debris and garbage in the environment, and construction of bridges, viewpoints , protective fences and structures that impeded the movement of motor vehicles.

It has also been carried out planting in an area of 2,800 square meters, of species such as Aleppo pine, tamarisk, mastic, black hawthorn, lastone and esparto.

Finally, the signal was made for the Red Routes and Trails of Ecotourism in the Region of Murcia.
