The ceremony for the title of Favourite Daughter of Molina de Segura Abellán Mulero Conchita took place on Saturday February 6, in the auditorium of the College of Education Child Paseo Rosales.
The event was chaired by the Mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, and attended by other members of the Municipal Corporation.
On November 30, 2009, the Municipal Council of the City Council agreed to appoint Molina de Segura Favourite Daughter of this town to Conchita Abellán Mulero, "in recognition of their human experience and dedication of more than forty years as a nurse and midwife."
Mulero was born Abellán Concepción Molina de Segura on 5 October 1932, and is affectionately known in town as Conchita the midwife.
In the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zaragoza obtained in January 1954, official titles and Midwife Practitioner.
Guided by its spirit of entrepreneurship, soon begins to exercise his profession as a midwife in Badalona, while married José López García, known industrialist of Molina de Segura.
Shortly after moving to his hometown, where he is a midwife in difficult years, with no hospital, attending births in homes, in caves, in areas without electricity, and lack of sanitation, helping give birth to several generations of molinense.
Generous-spirited, willful and always ready to provide its services, earned respect, consideration and affection of all the people who feel very attached and participating in various areas of health development, cultural and social development of municipality.
Mother of six children, he found time to devote to training youth through the promotion of camps and educational activities in the sixties, with the heart and guide of a large family with deep roots in the township.
In addition, he has combined his work as a midwife with the business, whose management is still involved through their governing bodies.
He has also actively collaborated in the construction of the Sacred Heart Parish and other parishes in Molina de Segura.
Has developed over the last twenty years of professional practice at the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca.
In 1976, validates her title as Technical Assistant Health and continues his training, participating in symposiums, courses, workshops and seminars in various cities, earning the respect, admiration and affection of midwives Murcia as a leading professional in the Region of Murcia, until his retirement in 1997.
