The official reception by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, teachers of IES Cañada de las Eras, Asensio López Lorenzo and Marco Antonio Perez, who won the second prize in the International Sundial Time Shadows (Shadows of Time ) has taken place on Wednesday 3 February, in the Office of the Mayor's.
The teachers have been awarded in the contest held in the Italian city of Brescia by the sundial Iphitus Arch.
The competition is held every two years and this year 1,900 have attended sundials around the world in the International Year of Astronomy (2009).
The Iphitus Arch is located in the gardens of the entry of IES Cañada de las Eras.
This is a monumental sundial made in 2007 in the Teaching Innovation Project Aeolus in Cañada de las Eras.
This project was attended by more than twenty secondary school teachers, on the grounds the personification of the wind god Aeolus mythological in Homeric poetry.
