The Local Board of Public Safety held a meeting to balance and coordinate cooperation between different police forces (25/09/2009)

Local Board of Public Safety of Molina de Segura has held a meeting on Friday September 25 at the local council, chaired by the Mayor, Eduardo Contreras Linares, and the Government Delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar.

In the Board were present also the Chief Commissioner of the National Police in Murcia, Pedro Vidal, Councillor of Public Safety, City Fortunato Arias, the Deputy Chief of Local Police, José Pérez Almagro, the Chief Inspector of Police Station National Police in Molina de Segura, Antonio Bernabe Sanchez, the commander of the Civil Guard post in Molina de Segura, Marcelino Alvarez Barrios, the spokesmen of the socialist municipal groups and the United Left, a representative of the Federation of Neighborhood Associations Interbarrios, Juan José Pineda Martinez, and Secretary General of the Council.

In this Board has been analyzing the safety of citizens in the municipality and the coordination that must exist between the National Police, Guardia Civil and Local Police for the effectiveness of them.

In this regard, the Government Delegate has delivered to the Mayor's Agreement on Security Cooperation signed between the Ministry of Interior and the City molinense.

This agreement involves joint action programs and planned, such as the exchange of police information between the Guardia Civil and Local Police of Molina de Segura, allowing both police can consult their respective databases in areas such as legal requisitions , missing persons, stolen vehicles and other issues of justice.

Local Safety Board shall, within six months, a Local Safety Plan, reflecting the existing problems at the municipal level and set targets.

Among the topics discussed, the Deputy Government has reported that in the first eight months of 2009 there was an increase of 17.9% on average in the number of people arrested for crimes and misdemeanors, particularly significant increase in arrests for crimes against people, which increased by 88.8%, and robbery with violence and intimidation, with a rise of 72.7%.

Also increased the clarification of crimes against persons by 2.8% and in the robberies to 4.9%.
