The Department of Environment of Molina de Segura presents the thirteenth edition of the Discover your environment (23/09/2009)

The Department of Environment of the City of Molina de Segura launches the thirteenth edition of the Environmental Education Program DISCOVER YOUR ENVIRONMENT for 2009/2010, coordinated by the Municipal Environmental Education (SEA).

The initiative was presented at a press conference by the Councillor for the Environment, Consuelo Rosauro Meseguer.

In the new course, Discover Your Environment intends to continue promoting and supporting initiatives and projects of schools in which the evidence, year after year, more commitment and involvement with the environment.

The program for the 2009/10 academic year introduces some new features in the three blocks that comprise:

- In the first block, Discover Molina, is offering a total of 43 activities on 10 environmental issues.

Activities that have made some changes in its structure, content and timing, based on the assessment made during the previous year, to adjust to levels that are engineered and match supply and environmental reality of our municipality.

- In the second block, Discover the Natural Areas Molina, this course work in environmental restoration Wetland Lagoons Campotéjar.

- On the third block, Discover your Centre, invites you to visit the Green Schools Project, which aims to involve the entire educational community in the development of Agenda 21 for Schools, to achieve a more sustainable center.

Explains the Councillor for the Environment, "in difficult economic times we are in, from the Department of Environment bet for maintaining Discover your Environment Programme, in the belief that environmental education is a fundamental tool to achieve a future more viable.

Through it, we will raise awareness about social and environmental problems and their causes, as a step to promote actions to pave the way towards sustainable development of our locality.

In our proposals we want to promote values such as responsibility, commitment, cooperation and solidarity, and training for decision-making and to change attitudes, to help contemplate the environmental problems as a whole, which values the importance of individual actions and social participation. "

In this new edition collaborating institutions as state level, as ECOEMBES CESPA and the Ministry of Environment, regional, and ESAMUR, ARGEN, Ragpickers Emmaus and the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, and local, as the company Sercom.

The program will be taught for three consecutive years by educators and business professionals ECOESPUĂ‘A, directed and coordinated from the Environmental Education Service.

It targets a total of 37 schools of all educational levels from kindergarten to high school and other educational programs.

We expect the participation of more than 30 centers.

Finally, the Councillor for the Environment wants to "encourage all schools to continue participating in the program and I appreciate the important work being done to secure future citizens more responsible and committed to their environment."
