The Ministry of Agriculture and Water condition the Green Corridor section of Molina de Segura which runs through the towns of Altorreal and The Alcayna.
The project, with an investment of 100,000 euros financed by the Department and La Caixa, was presented today at the local council by the director general of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, Pablo Fernández, accompanied by the mayor, Eduardo Contreras and responsible for institutional relations at La Caixa in Murcia, José Antonio Meseguer.
Pablo Fernandez said that the project's goal is to "promote traditional values and ecological place, restoring natural and built elements as points of interest and placing value on archaeological resources."
The works will affect the section of Rambla Salinas, located southeast of Molina de Segura, and consist of gravel packaging by about seven miles of nature trails for nonmotorized traffic, whose ownership belongs to the City Council of the municipality and the public domain and servants of the Ministry of Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs.
It is also envisaged to enable a car park by compaction of sand as well as making selective clearings and plantations for the recovery of that avenue and other areas of the corridor, clean debris and trash the environment, build bridges, gazebos, fences and protective structures to prevent the motor vehicle traffic.
The project also includes planting in an area of 2,800 square meters, of species such as Aleppo pine, tamarisk, mastic, black hawthorn, lastone and esparto.
Finally, there will be signaling in the network of routes and trails Ecotourism in the Region of Murcia.
