Inaugurated the redevelopment of the Fire Station Regional Consortium in Molina de Segura (21/07/2009)

The opening ceremony of the redevelopment of the Fire Station Consortium for Fire Fighting and Rescue Region in Molina de Segura Murcia took place today Tuesday 21 July, in the industrial area La Serreta.

The event was attended by the President of the Autonomous Region of Murcia, Ramón Luis Valcárcel Siso, the mayor of the town, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Minister of Presidency and Public Administration, Pedro María García Reverte, and Public Safety Councilman and Civil Protection, Fortunato Arias City.

The park needed a major overhaul after more than twenty years since its commissioning.

This reform is carried out in three phases.

The first phase of reform, which was inaugurated today, affects the social part of the enclosure, to suit both the technical needs and to increase their own staff, and represents an investment of close to EUR 1,800,000 .

Therefore, the social part is new.

In a second phase will build new facilities for the training section, and the third phase will be rearranged the plot occupied by the park, in regard to development, and fencing.

The new building consists of a building with a basement and two floors, built following the old building, with a total built area of 2,400 m2.

On the ground floor with hall, kitchen, changing rooms, communications room, toilets, gym, warehouse, etc.

The upper floor has a living room, bedrooms, bathrooms, multipurpose classrooms, etc.

Finally, we have constructed a tower for access to the terrace and a basement for storage and other uses.

The Fire Station Molina de Segura serves the municipalities in Molina de Segura, Alguazas, Las Torres de Cotillas, Ceuta, Lorqui Archena, Campos del Rio Fortuna.

Ranks first in the number of procedures performed, up from 13% of the total charged by the Consortium (764 performances in 2008).

It has a staff of 46 firefighters (a Head Park, five sergeants, ten corporals, and 30 firefighters), representing a daily guard composed of nine people: a sergeant, two corporals and six firefighters.

It also has ten vehicles for emergency and fire fighting, of which two are tall vehicles.
