The Fire Station Molina de Segura is consolidated as reference park CEIS (21/07/2009)

The president of the Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, today inaugurated the expansion work at the fire station in Molina de Segura, to consolidate it as reference Park Regional Consortium for Fire Fighting and Rescue (CEIS), for its strategic location geographical, size and amenities as well as its ability to accommodate the majority of continuing education that is imparted to the 335 troops of the Consortium.

The works, which involves an investment of 1.8 million, have allowed the construction of a new building of 2,400 square meters, distributed in a basement and two floors.

The ground floor has a communications room, hall, kitchen and dining room, changing rooms, both staff intervention, gym, toilets and storage.

The first and second floors each have living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms and multipurpose classrooms, while the basement is intended to storage area.

President Valcárcel, along with the Minister of Presidency and Public Administration, María Pedro Reverte, and the mayors of the municipalities that the park serves Molina de Segura, toured the new facilities, which are adapted to current needs Park staff, composed of 46 professionals (chief park, five sergeants, ten corporals and thirty firefighters).

The Fire Station Molina de Segura has ten vehicles for emergency and fire fighting, of which two are tall vehicles.

The park with more interventions

The Firehouse Molina de Segura serves the municipalities in Molina de Segura, Alguazas, Las Torres de Cotillas, Lorqui Ceutí, Archena, Campos del Rio Fortuna.

Ranks first in the number of procedures performed by the staff of the Regional Consortium for Fire Fighting and Rescue, with 13 percent of the total (764 performances in 2008).

Taken together, the Consortium for Fire Fighting and Rescue Region of Murcia (CEIS) conducted in 2008 a total of 5,326 operations, 321 more than in 2007.

In total reached 4,978 hours of work in assistance to incidents and improved means of arrival times and the average times of intervention.

The CEIS

The Consortium for Fire Fighting and Rescue Services of the Autonomous Community of Murcia (CEIS) is a public entity owned by the Autonomous Community of Murcia and 43 municipalities in the region (apart from those of Murcia and Cartagena, which have their own fire stations.)

The Consortium's coverage area includes 87 percent of the regional territory, which accounts for 54 percent of the population of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.

In order to intervene in emergencies to be declared in all the municipalities in the region, the CEIS are fifteen fire stations distributed throughout the Community, 150 vehicles and 335 effective intervention.

The parks are located in the towns of Yecla, Jumilla, Cieza, Caravaca de la Cruz, Mula, Molina de Segura, Sewer, Alhama de Murcia, Totana, Lorca, Aguilas, Mazarrón, La Manga, Los Alcazares, Abanilla and Fuente Alamo (the latter under construction).
