The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, praised as a "very good news and a step in the project" the next award of feasibility study and preliminary design of the extension of the tram line 1 Molina de Murcia Segura and Las Torres de Alguazas Cotillas, as stated in a press conference today, Thursday, July 2 at City Hall molinense.
The Autonomous Community of Murcia has taken to hiring the conduct of the study, with a base budget of 379,900 euros bidding.
The deadline for submission of tenders will be open until 3 August and the opening session will be 21 September.
The implementation period is 9 months.
Eduardo Contreras pointed out that "for now, it's just a feasibility study, so it is not the time for our City Council to rule in favor of any path.
All have in mind two possible alternatives: one near the route of the former railway that connected Murcia and Caravaca, and another next to the old national road 301, but it will be the studio that provides technical criteria and the alternatives for choose the best paths ".
"The City of Molina de Segura will await the feasibility and technical criteria, without forgetting that up to citizens to decide in due course on the different alternatives," notes the mayor.
The Statement adopted by the Autonomous Region said requirements and other technical formalities to be subject to the drafting of the Feasibility Study and Preliminary Design of the extension of Tram Line 1 Molina de Segura Murcia, Alguazas, Las Torres de Cotillas and , where appropriate, to all urban and Ceutí Lorqui, as a first phase of the implementation of light rail in the metropolitan area of Murcia.
