The Spanish Ballet of Murcia (Murcia) presents the regional premiere dance performance DAUGHTERS OF DAWN on Saturday 15 November at 21.00 pm in the Teatro Villa de Molina (in Chorrico Avenue, # 10).

The ticket price is 9 euros.

Las Hijas del Alba is a choreography inspired by the work of Federico García Lorca's La casa de Bernarda Alba.

Inspired and not based, as neither the characters nor the story correspond to the original.

Inspired, because what is intended to reflect the atmosphere oppressive and repressive, stifling air that surrounds a house inhabited by women in mourning, at a time when the prevailing sexist and hypocritical society.

Four women with four personalities marked (Repression, Rebellion, Naive and Shyness) and four types of relationships with men, or rather, the absence of man.

The presence of man, and imaginary dream takes shape in the role of Desire, a character who lives only in the subconscious of women and that triggers all sorts of emotions in them, from lust to violence to fear and perplexity.

The Daughters of Dawn was released in 1989 and is the first choreography story of Javier Latorre.

Today we return to stage, up to date technically and aesthetically, in the hands of a company, suitable for their technical and interpretive, to execute to perfection, and convinced that the values that surround the work and social criticism lead, must continue to reflect a society that, despite having evolved retains tic remains uncleaned and more heinous typical of the era in which this story is framed.

The Spanish Ballet of Murcia was founded in 1985 by Carmen Rubio.

In his career, the company has performed in numerous theaters and participated in national and international festivals, and since its inception a stable company and private, with an unbroken history of more than two decades, supporting their success.

The company has always had a unique identity of its kind dedicated to different forms of Spanish dance, although recent events have brought their full attention to Flamenco, Ballet Flamenco with argument and innovation, in a very modern line and with contributions to their shows with great professionals with a vision of art.
