The Director General of Archives and Libraries, Francisco Giménez, opens this evening in Molina de Segura (at 20:00 hours, showroom Garden, Calle Joaquín Abellán, 8) the exhibition commemorating the fifth anniversary of the granting of title Marqués de los Vélez Don Pedro Fajardo.
The exhibition 'The Marquis of Vélez: Lordship and Power in the kingdoms of Granada and Murcia' consists of 36 information panels organized around five themes: The family Fajardo, territory, wealth, religious architectural heritage, towns and Marquis locations.
The exhibition, which was organized in collaboration with the Provincial Office of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía in Almeria, reflects the major socio-political events Fajardo family and the various Marquis of Vélez, the whole context of their possessions in Southeast Spanish and during the period from the thirteenth century and early nineteenth centuries.
On September 12, 1507, Queen Joanna Don Pedro Fajardo granted the title of Marquis of Vélez.
It was determined that for more than three centuries go hand in hand most of the territories of the provinces of Almeria and Murcia.
The exhibition, which opened in November 2007 in the Regional Archives, covers more than 20 villages that constituted or were specifically related to the old Marquis of Vélez, in Murcia and Almeria, where he toured the districts of Vélez and Almanzora.
Accompanies the sample carefully editing a guide and a training booklet for schoolchildren.
