The Environmental Education program DISCOVER YOUR ENVIRONMENT for 2008/2009, coordinated by the Municipal Environmental Education (SEA) of the Department of Environment of the City of Molina de Segura, was presented today at a press conference Wednesday 8 October, Councillor of Environment, Consuelo Rosauro Meseguer.
The program meets this year twelve.

Discover MOLINA: Selection of 10 major environmental issues to meet the environmental reality of this county.
Addressed through 43 activities such as lectures / discussions, workshops, tours and visits aimed at all educational levels, from Child to ESO.
Discover the NATURAL: A year and given the great success of last year, repeated the work of this block in the Ecological Park Vicente Blanes.
Aims at ensuring the involvement of students in improving the natural environment of Molina de Segura, in particular the Ecological Park Vicente Blanes, through recovery activities, maintenance and / or research.
Discover your CENTER: Agenda 21 for Schools / Green Schools: A novel proposal that aims to incorporate sustainability criteria in the educational project of the center.
Councillor for the Environment, Consuelo Rosauro, "this course we want to propose to the school community incorporating the School Agenda 21, as a tool that aims to achieve sustainable management of the center and by extension the neighborhood and the city through participation.
This proposal aims to refocus the Green Schools program, offered last year in Discover your center block, and thus involve the educational community in developing a school action plan towards Sustainability ".
We expect the participation of some 29 schools, and a total of 8,000 students or so.
The City's investment for the program Discover your environment is 60,000 euros.

BALANCE OF THE ABOVE COURSE PROGRAMME:
More than 7,000 students from 29 schools in Molina de Segura have been involved during the year 2007/08 in the Environmental Education Program Discover your environment.
This level of involvement has led to an increase of 10% over the previous edition.
Have been performed in about 600 activities, which include: the completion of about 70 outlets with itineraries, tours and activities in facilities and natural environment, plus more than 500 lectures and workshops in the school.
Of the 10 major subjects offered within the block Discover Molina, the most popular has been the water, with 25% of total activities of this block.
Followed with 15% each, issues such as responsible consumption and eco-Molina Nature and Biodiversity: Natural Areas.
The Department of Environment has for Environmental Education Program Discover your environment, during 2007/08, a total of 55,000 euros.
The program is led by biologist Mondéjar Carmen Gil, coordinated by educator M ª José Hernández, and developed by special educators Ecoespuña Company, SL
