The Ethnographic Museum Carlos Soriano El Llano de Molina organizes an astronomy workshop on Sunday February 14 (12/02/2016)

The City of Molina de Segura has launched the Program of Activities of Museums 2016, where the possibility of knowing the Interpretation Center Albarda Rites and Traditions of Golf Molina, the Ethnographic Museum Carlos Soriano El Llano de Molina is offered and Furnace Museum Council and House of Folklore.

The Department of Tourism and Culture proposes for Sunday 14 February, from 11.30 to 13.30, the visit and the workshop of astronomy at the Ethnographic Museum Carlos Soriano in the hamlet of El Llano de Molina.

Activity aimed at a family audience, this workshop will show what a star is, how it is formed and where some planets are located.

Carlos Soriano Ethnographic Museum is located in the old manor that this lawyer had in his agricultural colony of Llano de Molina de Segura and was inaugurated on May 17, 2003. The proposed activities will take place from Monday to Thursday for arranged groups (schools, associations, cultural centers, etc., the municipality and the region), and the second Sunday of the month, for the general population, in schedule from 11.30 to 13.30.

The City of Molina de Segura, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works, rehabilitated the building and launched the center.

The complex is constituted by the manor house, the adjoining chapel was part of the colony, an area of ​​agricultural crops, to display the characteristic products of the area, a water wheel on the canal in operation and declared of Cultural Interest and since 2011, a room for temporary exhibitions.

The manor house has two floors.

On the ground floor there is the entrance where highlights a tinajero, under the stairs, and some archaeological pieces from surveys conducted in the town since 1992. Turning to the kitchen we find different tools that were part of this room and some collections ceramics and glass.

Passing through the courtyard of the house arrived at the temporary exhibition hall where proposals from different artists of the town develop.

The upstairs includes a first room where we contemplate different costumes.

The next room is composed of different models where huertanas work and some artifacts such as wells, mills ... The last room recreates a bedroom of the late nineteenth century are gathered.
