The IV Winter Cup takes place on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 February in Molina de Segura (10/02/2016)

The IV Winter Cup Jugger, organized by the Association of Murcia Jugger (AMUJ), in collaboration with the Department of Sports and Youth of the City of Molina de Segura, held on Saturday 20 February, from 10.00 to 21.00, and Sunday February 21, from 09.30 to 15.00 pm in the Municipal Polideportivo El Romeral.

Receipt of players will take place on Friday 19 February.

The test was presented at a press conference on Wednesday Feb. 10, by the Councillor for Youth, Reme López Paredes, Coordinator of Communication and Director AMUJ Activities Educational Centers, Mayte Delgado Alvarez, and the Secretary of the Committee expansion of the Spanish Federation of Jugger, Alejandro Martinez Hernandez.

A total of 45 teams Jugger, between 8 and 10 members, will participate in this tournament.

It will attended by over 500 participants from throughout the Spanish geography and the presence of players from Ireland and Germany.

It is one of four national tournaments the biggest to date in Spain competitive circuit and Jugger Spanish Federation.

The tournament will have the following schedule:

Friday 19:

- 18.00 h .: Reception players.

- 20.00 h .: Registration of registration of the tournament and test equipment.

Saturday 20:

- 08.00 / 09.00 h .: Concentration in the field.

- 09.00 / 09.30 h .: pep talk arbitration.

- 09.00 / 09.30 h .: Testing equipment.

- 10.00 / 21.00 h .: Performance of games.

Sunday 21:

- 08.00 / 09.00 h .: Concentration in the field.

00 h .: Knockout Stage.

- 13.00 / 14.00 h .: semifinals and final.

- 14.00 / 14.30 h .: Award ceremony.

- 15.00 h .: Closing of the tournament.

- 15.00 / 18.00 h .: Gathering equipment and impedimenta of the organization.

The Jugger is a team sport that was born in Germany in the early 90s came to Spain eight years ago Murcia recently less than four.

The Jugger quickly spread in different cities of the Spanish geography like Madrid, Valencia and Zaragoza, and soon jumped to the rest of the national scene.

Currently there is a tournament circuit at the Spanish level.

With a population of over 300 players, Murcia has become a real focus of this sport with a fondness constantly growing.

Proof of this is that it sent a team to Deutsche Meisterschaft XVI, leading German tournament of this sport, getting the first position 64 participating teams, and this past 2015 in 2013, two teams from the region won first and second place, winning hence the title of champions of Germany.

The Jugger is played with a ball called Jugg, used to convert points, and a variety of sticks known as Pompfen.

All Pomfen are covered by soft materials to cushion shocks.

The playing field is an irregular octagon and measures 20 x 40 meters.

The goal of the game is to turn the Jugg many points at the base of the opposing team.

Each base is located at one end of the field.

On the play in Australia's Jugg version it has a ring or handle and is nailed to a stake.

The Pomfen are used to block the opposing players, Qwik preventing the opponent from scoring points and making sure that the self is not blocked by the adversary.

Regarding the development in the Region of Murcia, the Jugger has always gone hand Murcia Association of Jugger (AMUJ), which since February 2011 has been organizing numerous events in order to raise awareness of the sport among young people.

It has to do for 3 years with the support of the City of Molina de Segura, which helps bring the sport to the transfer of Polideportivo Municipal El Romeral.
