The organizing committee of the contest, with the artistic direction of Virginia Martinez, launched the web www.concursovillademolina.es
The V Young Performers Competition Villa de Molina 2016, organized by the Culture Department of the City of Molina de Segura, the Virginia Association Batuta, the Conservatory of Music Maestro Jaime Lopez, the Music Association in Molina de Segura, the Polyphonic Coral Municipal Hims Mola and the Band of Molina de Segura Association, was presented at a press conference Wednesday February 3 by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Eduardo Contreras Linares, Councillor of Culture, Worship Molina López, Artistic Director Contest, Virginia Martínez Fernández, and the representative of the organizing committee of the contest, Ambrosio García Rex.
The registration period has remained open until February 19.
The event is organized to reward the most talented young musician of the region and the best musicians in the categories of piano, string, woodwind, percussion and wind-metal, the latter mode that is granted for the first time this year.
The event is biennial and is convened since 2008 to help bring out the talents of students, encouraging young fans and bring music to society.

The tests will take place between February and May.
The artistic direction is in charge of Virginia Martinez Fernandez, director of molinense orchestra, head of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia.
The competition includes 21 awards, including 20 awards for categories correspond to levels of study to elementary teaching, professional and above, plus the special prize for Virginia Martinez Fernandez participant born in Molina de Segura that stands by its desire to artistic improvement.
This call is the only proposal in the region with qualifying students of the three lessons taught in conservatories and music schools.
Examinations take place at the Conservatory of Music Maestro Jaime Lopez, while the awards gala will be held at the Teatro Villa de Molina on May 14, 2016, at 21.00.
Civic and business cooperation
The contest is the efforts of a group of volunteers from local music groups Batuta Virginia Association, Music Association in Molina de Segura, Band Music Association of Molina de Segura, the Conservatory of Music Maestro Jaime Lopez Polyphonic Choir and Municipal Hims Mola.
Funding is possible through the crowdfunding among a group of 30 local, regional and Alicante companies comprising shops, factories, professional cabinets, schools, catering, sanitation, freelancers, managers, publishers, printers and musicians.
Furthermore, it has the backing of Cajamar, la Caixa, Cajamurcia Foundation and the City of Molina de Segura.
