The Environmental Education Program Molina, Discover your environment, developed from the Environmental Education Service of the Department of Environment of the City of Molina de Segura, after fourteen years of experience and a break of four years, this new edition takes on its journey to provide schools and organized a joint offer of activities related to various environmental management programs of the municipality, giving consistency and body to the proceedings, which in isolation, have been developed in recent years.
The program offers this year two blocks of classified according to the stage of education at which activities are directed.
On the one hand Discover your city, dedicated to urban environment activities, with special emphasis on the collection of waste and its relation to saving water and energy and climate change.
And, moreover, Discover Molina natural spaces where environmental education activities developed in the framework of the various management programs of municipal natural areas such as the Ecological Park Vicente Blanes, Las Lagunas de Campotéjar collected or Sotos del Rio Segura.
Molina, Discover Your Environment is aimed at different educational levels: secondary nursery, primary education;
and activities developed therein have a mainly practical approach.
Thus, through workshops, lectures, research, storytelling for younger, contests and competitions, it is intended that the students acquire knowledge and skills that they can apply in their daily life in order to contribute to the care of the immediate environment.
It also will provide guidance to teachers educational resources to address the problem of waste and other educational materials on other environmental issues.
The Councillor for the Environment, Remedios Lopez Paredes, thanks "especially ECOEMBES collaboration that has allowed give us continuity to the activities of environmental education on selective waste collection. And, of course, encourage educational and community especially teachers to participate in Molina, Discover your environment, and I appreciate as a teacher and head of the municipal area, the work that teachers develop in the incorporation and promotion of environmental issues, to form responsible citizens and committed to their city and its surroundings ".
