The Mayor and the Municipal Board of Spokesmen of the City of Molina de Segura made the following statement:
In yesterday, Wednesday, December 16, 2015, the Prime Minister of Spain Mariano Rajoy Brey suffered a brutal assault in Pontevedra, in the course of an act of electoral campaign of the Popular Party.
We proclaim our unanimous condemnation and revulsion at the attack, so vile and cowardly way in which it occurred, as the background of political intent of assaulting a person chosen by the public authority and violent contempt for the ideas of training politics as the Popular Party.
Violence and aggression can not be justified in any sphere of civic life and, of course, also in political life, which is to be the word and the ideas democratic and peaceful course of debate.
We deeply respect, in the free expression of ideas and express our commitment to combat aggressive and violent behavior.
Hence the need to make public this statement, which we understand as a way to confront and try to end violence in political life.
