El Cronista of the City of Molina de Segura, Antonio de los Reyes, awarded the Recognition of Cultural Dissemination Setenil (30/11/2015)

The City of Molina de Segura has awarded the Recognition of Cultural Dissemination Setenil, in its seventh edition, Antonio de los Reyes, official chronicler of the Villa, for its ongoing research and dissemination of the history of the town as well as promotion of culture among their citizens, over the past 50 years.

Antonio de los Reyes García García-Morell was born in Murcia in 1931 and lives in Molina de Segura since 1960. Son of poet and journalist Raimundo de los Reyes, is national teacher and was director of La Consolacion College between 1982 and 1995. Among many positions and activities has been a correspondent for The Truth, EFE and Radio Nacional;

Radio Interparroquial director;

UCD councilor and founder and president of the Center for Studies molinense.

Since 1977 is corresponding academic of the Royal Alfonso X the Wise of Murcia.

In 1996 he was appointed official chronicler of Molina de Segura, a position that continues today.

In April 2015 he was awarded the distinction of Honorary Citizen of the town.

Antonio de los Reyes has been for many years the main reference point when talking about history and culture in Molina de Segura, with its indispensable for the generations that have come and will come after input.

He organized many important lectures at the Casino and has published fifty Pliegos where he studied in detail various aspects of the history, culture and art in Molina.

Among numerous books aimed Murcia, they will also be the first compendium of history Molina, The Lordship of Molina Seca, today Molina de Segura, and other qualifications focused on the city, such as The "accounts" Molina de Segura in the eighteenth century;

or Molina de Segura in Murcia Middle Ages.

The Department of Culture established in 2009 the Recognition of Cultural Dissemination Setenil order to distinguish those persons, groups or institutions that, over the years, have performed activities to promote culture in the city in all its facets.

In the six previous editions have been awarded: the bookstore Justina Jimenez Salcedo, businessman and art gallery Juan Vicente Davalos, Professor of Physics and organizer of La Tertulia Thursday Francisco Javier Abellán, the Polyphonic Choir Hims Mola Foundation Molina Medical Research (FEM) and the IES Francisco de Goya.

The delivery of this award will be made in conjunction with the twelfth Setenil Prize will take place on December 3, 2015 at 18:30 am in the Plenary Hall of the City of Molina de Segura.
